Privacy

What this site collects when you read it, what it deliberately does not, and what happens to an enquiry you send. Last updated 2026-09-19.

Reading the site

Nothing is collected about you in order to read an article. There is no analytics service, no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no attempt to recognise you between visits.

Like any website, this one is delivered by a server, and that server keeps short-lived technical logs: the requesting IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s own description of itself. They exist to deliver pages and to see that the site is working, not to build a picture of you. Hosting is provided by Vercel, which keeps these logs on our behalf.

Cookies

Reading this site sets no cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask consent for. No analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, and nothing that would let you be recognised on a later visit.

Pictures loaded from other servers

This is the one place where reading the site does reach a third party, and it is worth stating plainly rather than burying.

Only Finance writes its own articles, but the picture on a story is the publisher’s, and it is loaded from the publisher’s own server rather than copied onto ours. The same is true of the artwork on Telegram posts shown on the front page. So when a page with pictures on it loads, your browser makes its own requests to those servers, and they can see your IP address, the browser’s description of itself, and which page you were on.

We do not receive anything back from them and we do not ask them for anything about you. What they do with a request is governed by their own privacy notices, not this one.

If you write to us

The contact form and the advertising form store what you type: your name, your email address, your message, and — if you fill them in — a company name and which placement you were asking about. They are stored so that somebody can read the message and reply to it, and for no other purpose. They are never sold, never shared and never used to send you anything you did not ask for.

One further thing is stored with a submission: the IP address it came from. It is kept only to recognise a script filling the form repeatedly, it is never displayed and never sent anywhere, and it is deleted with the message.

Messages are kept while they are still being dealt with and deleted afterwards. If you would like yours deleted sooner, say so and it will be.

A search runs on our own server against articles we have published. What you typed is in the address of the results page and therefore in the server logs described above; it is not stored anywhere else, and the results page asks search engines not to index it.

Where the figures come from

The market prices, the macro readings, the release calendar and the U.S. debt figures are fetched by our server, on its own schedule, before you ask for the page. Your browser never contacts those services and they never see you. They are Yahoo Finance, CoinGecko, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED) and the U.S. Treasury.

The Telegram channel at @OnlyFinance_Pro is read the same way. Following that link, of course, takes you to Telegram, where Telegram’s own terms apply.

Where the data is held

The site runs on Vercel and its database is hosted by Neon. Both may process data outside your own country, including in the United States, under the transfer safeguards those providers publish.

Your rights

If the General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to have its use restricted, to object to it being used, and to receive it in a portable form. In practice, for somebody who has only read the site, the answer to the first of those is usually that we hold nothing.

Send the request through the contact form and you will get an answer. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority in the country where you live.

Changes

When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. It is kept by hand rather than stamped automatically, so that the date means somebody looked rather than that a deployment happened.

Questions

Anything here unclear, or a request about your own data — write to the newsroom and it reaches a person.
